Beekeeper Nazim Nazir Dar hails from Pulwama and is a recipient of the Viksit Bharat initiative. He began his quest in 2017 after getting the idea to launch his own business while browsing the internet. And so his beekeeping venture started. He hired six locals in 2019 to impart his understanding of developing beekeeping abilities.
A 2018 study published in the Greater Kashmir states that Nazim began with just two bees. Because of his commitment to apiculture, his company expanded to 150 hives and produced 1,200 kg of honey.

Nazim's production of honey increased dramatically following a beekeeping training course provided by Khadi and Village Industries Commission, during which he was given ten complimentary bee-boxes. His first harvest of 100 kg brought him good money in the neighborhood market, which inspired him to grow much more. According to the article, Nazim was able to earn between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 per month in just 10 months, which at the time was sufficient to recruit two individuals.
