The CEO of YRF verifies the rumors
One of the studio's most valued intellectual properties, Widhani described the YRF spy world as "a financial and cultural juggernaut" during his speech at FICCI Frames.
"I'll reveal the worst-kept secret in the business: Alia Bhatt will be starring in a spy universe movie, with a release date set for later this year. Confirming rumors on the actor's casting, Widhani stated, "We are actually just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio."
The spy universe is going to see a lot of new developments. There will be an increasing number of movies produced under it. I can only tell for now that Alia Bhatt is starring in a movie set in the spy universe," he stated.
More movies in the YRF SU
Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are scheduled to collaborate on the untitled movie. They will appear in the action entertainer as super-agents.
Starring Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani, War 2 is the next installment in YRF's spy series. The director is going to be Ayan Mukerji. Tiger vs. Pathaan and Pathaan 2 are other upcoming films.
"The YRF Spy Universe timeline has a twist: Pathaan 2 will come out before Tiger vs.. Pathaan and will set up the clash of two cinematic legends on the big screen," a source had previously informed Pinkvilla. There is no denying that Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of Pathaan has struck a chord with viewers; in fact, there is a persistent demand from them to see more of SRK in the espionage role. Adi and SRK decided shortly after the film's January 2023 premiere to spin off Pathaan as a stand-alone franchise inside the Spy Universe, and the former began formulating ideas for the film's highly anticipated sequel."
